Commercial Gladiolus Cultivation Technique is also prominent for Agribusiness.
soil and climate:
gladiolus can be grown on any kind of fertile soil, but the fertilized do-fiber and bent do-fiber are good for cultivating the soil. the ph value of the soil should be between 6-7. this flower grows well in the cold weather of the soil. 15-20 degrees c. this temperature is suitable for the increase and flower production. gladiolas like light for 8-10 hours every day. therefore, sunny places and places that have stormy air resistance should be selected for this flower cultivation.
caste:
Bangladesh agricultural research institute has developed the varieties of gladiolas flower bari gladiolas-1, bari gladiolus-2, and bari gladiolas-3. these varieties are suitable for cultivation everywhere in our country.
propagation:
gladiolas can be bred through seeds, Karam, and carmel. Karam is generally planted for cultivation. it is better to use a 4-5 cm diameter karam.
land making and fertilizer application:
October-November is the right time to cultivate gladiolus. at this time, land has to be made by cultivating well and snoring the soil with ladders. gladiolus cultivation generally requires 5-6 kg of rotten dung or organic manure, 10 grams of urea, 30 grams of tsp, and 30 grams of mop fertilizer per square meter. tsp, mop, and dung fertilizers should be mixed with the soil during the last cultivation. half of the urea fertilizer should be applied 20-25 days after planting and the other half after the flowering is removed.
Karam planting:
Soaking the seeds for 12 hours before planting helps in astronomy. to cure the disease, the seeds should be soaked in dithen-m45 (mixed with 10 l in water at the rate of 30-35 grams) and dried in the shade. the row should be planted 20 cm deep in the soil and 15 cm from the tree.
interim care:
the land has to be kept weed-free. irrigation should be given as needed during the dry season. after every irrigation, the land has to be loosened by the joe actually. after applying the first UPI of urea fertilizer, irrigation has to be given and the soil between the two rows should be removed at the base of the tree. small huts or plastic rope need to be pulled to protect the trees from falling into the air. gladiolus is infected with leaves and flowers from seat blight disease and the attack of the physiotherapy rot bacteria causes the stem and roots to rot. both diseases should be sprayed with bevistin (.2%) or dithen m45 immune killer every 15 days. raison or perhecthion should be sprayed for insects.
flower collection:
flowers usually have to be collected when 1-2 petals bloom from the bottom of the spike. it is best to dip the bucket sadirectly in the water immediately after collecting the flowers and then store it at a low temperature (6-7 degrees). when cutting the spike, 4-5 leaves should be placed at the base of the tree and the karam will be nourished.
lifting and saving of karam:
karam is usually lifted in march-april. when the flower drops are finished, the leaves turn yellow and the tree dies. at this time, the karamas are carefully collected by digging the roots of the tree. make sure that karam is not cut or injured. after collecting karam, you have to pick the large and small karam and dry it in the shade. before storage, the karams should be treated and dried for 30 minutes in 0.1% benlet or 0.2% captan solution. the karamas should then be packed in perforated polythene bags and stored in the shock and cold area of the room.
Commercial Gladiolus Cultivation Technique is very much important for Entrepreneurship in terms of Agribusiness.
